Phoebe Kebbel

Life at FGS Global

As co-head of the practice group “Transaction and Financial Communication”, she has advised companies on over 75 M&A transactions and numerous other challenges in financial communications.

Life Pre-FGS Global

After studies and a doctorate in business administration in Germany, Canada and France, she started out in PR agencies before joining FGS Global’s predecessor Hering Schuppener, where she helped to build the Frankfurt office.

Life Beyond FGS Global

She co-founded the “Working Moms” network in Germany, teaches at university, serves on the board of trustees for Frankfurt’s Museum of Modern Art and often surprises people by passionately growing fruit and vegetables.

In capital market communications, Phoebe is one of the most experienced professionals in Europe. Blue-chip, private equity, non-listed and family clients rely on Phoebe’s extensive experience, profound judgement and nerves of steel, traits she honed while advising companies on over 75 M&A transactions with a total deal volume of more than 100 billion Euro and many other challenges in financial communications – including defense against shareholder activists or shortseller attacks.

Phoebe is based in Frankfurt, an office she has helped build since 2003, and co-heads the global “Transactions and Financial Communications” practice at FGS. She serves on the firm’s European Executive Committee and has championed the opening of the Paris and Amsterdam offices.

Closely related to Phoebe’s advisory practice, her work as a founder and an academic is driven by her vision to empower the next generation of professionals, particularly women.

In 2007, long before this was a common concern, Phoebe co-founded the “Working Moms” network in Germany, advocating for the compatibility of work and parenthood. It now counts more than 800 senior professional women as members in Germany and Switzerland.

Phoebe teaches communication management at the University of Leipzig and has co-founded the Center for Research in Financial Communications there. She studied Business Administration at WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management in Koblenz, Germany, Richard Ivey Business School in Canada and Ecole de Management de Lyon, France. She holds a PhD in Marketing and was a jury member for the German PR Awards for many years.

Phoebe also serves on the board of trustees for Frankfurt’s Museum of Modern Art (MMK). She spends her spare time with her family and often surprises people by passionately growing fruit and vegetables in her garden.
