Jaime will lead the Singapore office and brings extensive regional media and public affairs expertise
FGS Global has been strengthening its senior team across Asia to meet growing client needs
JULY 26, 2022, SINGAPORE. FGS Global, the strategic advisor for the stakeholder economy, recently formed by the merger of Finsbury Glover Hering and Sard Verbinnen & Co., today announced that Jaime Ho has joined the firm as Partner in Singapore. The appointment comes as FGS Global accelerates the growth of its business in Southeast Asia to meet the needs of clients that are calling for greater strategic communications support across critical issues in the region.
The appointment of Jaime in Singapore is the latest in a number of senior hires that have strengthened FGS Global’s capabilities in Asia, and are aimed at bringing in senior advisors who have long-standing experience of operating at the highest levels of corporate communications and reputation management, government affairs and the media.
Jaime spent 16 years as a diplomat in Singapore’s foreign service, and he brings a deep and nuanced understanding of the evolving regional and global geopolitical landscape, as well as hands-on experience in issues ranging from international trade to climate change and sustainability. He served in overseas assignments in Washington D.C., and Geneva, including a last role as a senior negotiator in international climate change negotiations before leaving the foreign service.
During a nine-year career in journalism at Mediacorp, Singapore’s national media network, Jaime led the TV, radio and digital newsrooms. In his role as Chief Editor of the CNA Digital newsroom, it became the most-widely read digital news platform in Singapore, with a significant and growing regional reach. As well as hosting and moderating key political interviews and panels for CNA, including the only political debate in Singapore’s 2020 general elections, he was the host of nearly 50 episodes of CNA’s first and only climate-change focused podcast, The Climate Conversations.
Jaime commented: “I hope that my experience and networks will allow FGS Global to grow its presence in Singapore and the region, and serve a growing range of clients in Singapore and Southeast Asia to navigate an increasingly complex stakeholder economy.”
“The ability to do this while leveraging FGS Global’s established capabilities and talent at a global level is an incredible opportunity,” he added.
Faeth Birch, CEO of UK, Asia, and Middle East, shared her thoughts about the opportunities across the whole region: “We have a strong talent base throughout Asia doing great work for our regional and global clients and we are very pleased to welcome Jaime to the team. The team in Singapore, led by Jaime, is well placed to help firms navigate today’s increasingly complex business landscape and we look forward to leveraging our global expertise and cross-border connections for clients wherever it makes sense.”
The appointment will strengthen FGS Global’s capabilities in Southeast Asia at a time when Southeast Asian companies are playing a larger role in the global supply chain and capital markets.
Ben Richardson, FGS Global’s Head of Asia warmly welcomed Jaime and spoke of the firm’s ambition in Southeast Asia: “Singapore is a vital base for our clients in Asia and they have been ramping up their growth here over the past few years. It is a timely and strategic moment to be enhancing our Southeast Asian capabilities, and we expect our clients worldwide to benefit from Jaime’s expertise both at home in Singapore and across international markets.”
