As a Managing Director on the FGS Global’s Food team, Ben Famous leverages his experience in political and corporate communications to help clients navigate an increasingly complex media, cultural, and public affairs landscape.

Before joining FGS Global, Ben was the Head of Strategic Communications and Brand Marketing at CAVA, a leading Mediterranean culinary brand. In his role, Ben led media and public relations, executive positioning, customer experience, and brand development. Prior to CAVA, Ben built and led the communications and public relations team for fast-casual chain Sweetgreen – focusing on message and strategy development, executive and brand positioning, issue and crisis management, and corporate social responsibility.

Prior to his time in the private sector, Ben served as Communications Director and National Press Secretary to the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. During his time on the Committee, he led the messaging and communications strategy around the passage of one of the most contentious food policy fights of the past decade – the nation’s first ever mandatory requirement for the labeling of genetically modified (GMO) foods. He also served in various roles for the senior U.S. Senator for Ohio.

Ben is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife Samantha, son Arthur, and their pup Pete.
