Brianna Allen is a Director in FGS Global’s Health and Wellness Division, where she works with a wide array of clients and has a particular focus on media relations, crisis management and strategic communications.
Prior to joining FGS, Brianna was a healthcare reporter for Politico, where she covered daily developments around the federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the opioid crisis, as well as the debate over Obamacare repeal, public health funding, gun control and women's health care.
She was part of a team of four reporters who revealed that former CDC Director Brenda Fitzgerald was trading tobacco and pharmaceutical stock while helming the nation’s top public health agency, resulting in Fitzgerald’s swift resignation. She has received numerous awards and fellowships including a grant from the University of Southern California’s Center for Health Journalism, in which she documented the challenges facing families affected by the devastating, long term effects of fetal alcohol syndrome.
Brianna was also part of Politico’s breaking news team and contributed to the outlets 2016, 2018 and 2020 election coverage. Prior to her time at Politico, she served as Washington correspondent for the Fiscal Times, where she covered healthcare and economic policy.
Brianna started her career as a journalist covering the Illinois state government for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, while earning her Master’s Degree in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Political Science from North Dakota State University.
