Daniel is a Managing Director in Beijing and specializes in strategic communications, media relations, campaigns, stakeholder engagement and management, brand building, and crisis and reputation management. He advises a range of MNC clients, including in the automotive, consumer and healthcare, aviation, financial services and insurance sectors. He also supports FGS Global’s global thought leadership efforts with regular insights into China’s political, economic and social landscape.
Daniel has 20 years’ experience across journalism, media relations and strategic communications at English-language media outlets, UK government and major brands. He joined FGS Global in 2022 from British Airways, where for three years he led on the airline’s external communications, including public relations and marketing, in Greater China and other Asia Pacific markets.
Prior to joining British Airways, he spent seven years at the UK Home Office, initially as a press officer in London and later during a posting to China as a strategic communications advisor on visas and immigration policy across its Asia Pacific markets. Previously, he was a journalist at one of the UK’s largest newspaper publishers for six years, and in-house public relations manager at a leading UK charity for three years.
Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Cambridge and a post-graduate journalism qualification accredited by the UK National Council for the Training of Journalists.
Daniel is fluent in English and has conversational knowledge of Mandarin.
