As a Director on FGS Global’s Energy & Sustainability team, Meira Bernstein helps clients distill complex issues into clear, compelling messages for key audiences from the local to the international level.

Meira is no stranger to winning tough messaging campaigns in a complex media environment. Prior to joining FGS Global, Meira served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Media Operations at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where she oversaw communications and media relations strategy for the third-largest federal agency. At DHS, Meira’s work included issues such as immigration, human trafficking, and international security.

Meira also served as the Director of State Communications on the Biden for President campaign, where she advised President Biden on state-level communications strategy and developed messaging that resonated with voters across battleground states. Meira previously served in senior communications roles with Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and former Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO).

Meira is a graduate of Williams College, where she earned her B.A. in History, Leadership Studies, and International Studies. She lives in Washington, D.C.
