Michael Abrahams is a global communications and reputation expert who has worked extensively as both an outside advisor for and in-house leader at some of the world's most successful companies. His work connects his substantial background in corporate and crisis communications, media strategy, public affairs, investor relations, litigation communications, digital engagement, and cutting-edge employee activism.
Based in New York, Michael has led communications for some of the largest global crises and other high stakes situations, including M&A transactions, IPOs, CEO transitions, product recalls, bankruptcies and restructurings, executive compensation disclosures, ESG and DE&I commitments, union campaigns and contract negotiations, strikes and work slowdowns, shareholder activism, workforce reductions, and government investigations.
Michael also founded and heads the firm's Employee & Transformation Communications practice, which helps companies and other institutions address complicated internal communications and workplace matters. The practice builds on his expertise in employee activism, merger integration, leadership positioning, labor communications, and change management.
Michael's experience spans several continents and multiple industries, including financial services, retail, manufacturing, energy, transportation, media, professional services, technology, higher education, food production, artificial intelligence, connected devices, and robotics. He also has served in interim communications leadership roles for two Fortune 500 companies in Europe.
Michael previously oversaw communications and marketing for National Public Radio (NPR) and began his career in politics in Washington, DC. He received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his M.A. in politics and public policy from the Eagleton Institute at Rutgers University. He serves on the Board of New York City-based investigative theater company The Civilians.
