As a journalist and communications manager, René has spent the past almost three decades building or reorganizing editorial offices and communications departments. He has extensive experience in positioning companies and their founders and executives to achieve business and brand targets through media strategy, executive communications, investor relations and stakeholder engagement. Between 2015 and 2021, he built Zalando's corporate communications department and played a key role in shaping the perception of one of Europe's greatest startup success stories.
Previously, he headed editorial teams of Axel Springer’s WELT Group and was responsible for the group's startup coverage. At Financial Times Deutschland, he headed the technology and media teams and was Deputy Editor of the Politics and Economics department.
René is married and a father of four. He lives on a farm close to Berlin.
