The Challenge

Apriori Bio, a new health security company incubated by venture firm Flagship Pioneering, hired FGS Global’s Health team to launch the company and develop its brand identity.

Our Solution

The FGS Global Creative team developed a brand that communicates Apriori’s mission to provide humanity with variant-proof protection from viral threats. The integrated launch process included the development of a logo, brand identity, custom illustrations, website, foundational messaging, media strategy and preparation and launch day support.

Results

Apriori officially launched in July 2022 with substantial coverage and positive feedback. The website lives as a hub for Apriori to recruit new talent, showcase its proprietary scientific platform and share news as it continues to grow as a company.

The Process

Creative Brief / Research / Workshop / Logo Design / Branding / Web Architecture / Web Development

Our team had weekly meetings with the client to learn about the company’s science, vision, mission and goals for the future. This allowed us to produce a robust creative brief to get all our creative players on the same page.

We often start with a color analysis that encompasses competitor brand styles for providing style direction that aligns or differentiates the client within an industry space.

The Workshop

Once the creative brief was completed, our team began working on a design document that included a selection of fonts, colors, patterns and images using the creative brief as a guide.

Our team ran a workshop with the client to review the final brief. At the end of the workshop, we had a clear understanding of the look and feel the client wanted to explore. We produced four distinct moodboards highlighting different company attributes.

Logo Design

Once the moodboard was approved, our team started working on the design of the logo. We provided the client with a variety of logo options using the fonts, colors and patterns from the approved moodboard.

The approved logo includes square dashed lines that symbolizes the a-b process of Apriori’s unique approach.

The logo can respond in a variety of ways depending on context and can easily scale to a range of sizes.

The Apriori Brand

The brand style includes patterns, graphics and collages to elaborate and reinforce the scientific mission and to set it apart from others in the space.

After the logo was completed, we began working on a variety of collateral materials including business cards, decks, letterheads and social media graphics.

Custom Art

We partnered with Vessel Studios to create the custom graphic renderings of the six-step proprietary process to visually show the science.

These are formatted as standalone graphics for use in Apriori content, such as presentation decks and on the website.

Web Architecture

During the brand design process, the design team concurrently started working on the architecture of the website. This included the development of a site map and wireframes.

Home Page Designs

The team began working on home page design options right after the wireframes were approved. These designs included desktop and mobile versions.

We provided the client with three home page and three interior page options. During this initial web design phase, we want to get final approval of these two pages (home & interior) before designing the full website.

Design System

Once the home page and interior page designs were approved, we started designing the rest of the interior pages.

Concurrently, the UX Design team started working on a design system, which is a centralized set of design standards and best practices that govern the look and feel of a product or service, and help ensure that all design elements are consistent and on-brand.

The Final Product

After only a few months, the Apriori website was completed and launched in July 2022.
