FIFA World Cup 2026 NJ-NY

The Challenge

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in 16 cities across North America — including MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Giants and Jets. The New York/New Jersey Host Committee engaged FGS Global in an integrated effort, spanning across our Strategic Communications, Creative, Digital and Insights teams, to officially kick off the Committee’s hosting campaign. Our client needed to make an outsized impact: with the final match schedule yet to be determined, host cities are competing for the chance to host the World Cup Finals

Our Solution

Our efforts culminated at a kickoff event in Times Square, where NJ Governor Phil Murphy, NYC Mayor Eric Adams and Good Morning America's Michael Strahan unveiled the official 2026 World Cup logo for a roaring crowd of soccer fans. The Creative team designed several show-stopping — and massive — billboards on display at the event. The team also conducted a two-day photo and video shoot, creating a polished suite of social graphics, still assets and videos for the Committee and FIFA.

Results

The FGS Strategic Communications team provided coordination, event strategy, messaging and media; the Digital team helped drive social strategy and content; and the Research and Insights team conducted a survey providing data to help bolster the argument for NY/NJ to host the Finals.
