Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority

The Challenge

Thoroughbred horse racing has been in crisis, with increased public attention on equine fatalities and an FBI investigation into a network of trainers and vets doping horses. In response, Congress created the Horseracing Safety and Integrity Authority (HISA) to establish, for the first time, uniform safety and integrity rules for the sport. FGS Global helped launch HISA in 2021 when it only had two employees — but as a growing organization with a federal mandate, HISA needed more than a new pair of horseshoes. They needed to project responsibility — and an unwavering commitment to equine welfare.

Our Solution

Our new brand identity for HISA draws on the colors and typography of racing’s rich history, specifically trading on the rich, natural hues of healthy grass and custom patterning that recalls the powerful movement of horses mid-stride. An instantly recognizable shield icon conveys both authority and trust, infusing HISA’s new brand with a winning aura of credibility and command.
