UN Youth Climate Summit
The Challenge
Three months before the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, FGS Global was hired to handle all communications around the Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit and accompanying Youth Summit, which would kick off the week’s events.
Our Solution

FGS Global was tasked with media outreach, messaging, and influencer deployment ahead of, during, and immediately following the Summit, collaborating with various UN channels as well as the NGOs and Heads of State participating in the Summit. On the ground at the Summit, FGS Global managed nine different press conferences with Summit presenters, all media interviews with Goodwill Ambassadors and Heads of State, and various other media stakeouts and social media activation sites to amplify developments onsite and extend the Summit’s messaging beyond the “climate bubble.”
In addition to earned media, FGS Global developed targeted social media content for dozens of Messengers of Peace and other Summit partners, and identified targets for Summit invitations, eventually coordinating with each attending individual’s team on onsite earned and social media opportunities.

Results

Thanks to FGS Global’s outreach, the Summit garnered positive coverage in BBC News, The New York Times, TIME, The Washington Post, The Economist, The Associated Press, Agence France-Presse, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, Times of India, Financial Times, Reuters, and dozens of other global media.
