July 22, 2024 / Washington, DC – FGS Global (“FGS”), a leading global strategic advisory and communications firm, today announced the appointment of Josh Tzuker as Global Head of Antitrust and Competition. Tzuker brings over 25 years of government and private sector experience, most recently serving as the Antitrust Division’s Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice.
Tzuker will be based in Washington, D.C., and will focus on advising clients on communications and advocacy related to corporate competition, policy, cross-border investments and M&A. He will work closely with Brussels-based partner Sebastian Vos who recently joined FGS after a decade at Covington & Burling advising clients on EU antitrust and competition matters. As the leading communications advisor for mergers and acquisitions, FGS is deeply involved in helping companies engage all stakeholders to secure transaction approvals and complete successful closings and integrations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Josh to FGS Global as our new Global Head of Antitrust and Competition. With his extensive experience from his recent leadership role in the DOJ’s Antitrust Division and previous role at the Federal Trade Commission, Josh will be an invaluable asset to our team, both in the U.S. and internationally, as we support clients navigating competition law and policy,” said Alexander Geiser, Global CEO of FGS Global. “In today’s evolving regulatory environment, Josh’s appointment is particularly timely and critical. His perspective will be instrumental in ensuring our clients are well-prepared to navigate the most challenging and complex landscapes. We are confident that under Josh’s leadership, our Antitrust and Competition practice will continue to excel and grow.”
“As the competition policy environment is evolving on a global scale, FGS not only understands the interplay of policy and strategic communications like few others, they also deliver unparalleled results, which I have experienced firsthand as a former client,” said Tzuker. “I’m proud of what the Antitrust Division has accomplished during my time there, and I look forward to continuing to focus on these important issues by helping companies navigate the complex regulatory environment in my new role at FGS Global.”
At the Justice Department, Tzuker focused on competition matters across the U.S. economy, for all sectors, including technology, health care, transportation, publishing, digital markets, consumer products, housing and food. He was part of a groundbreaking team that successfully challenged a multitude of transactions, including three of the largest Sherman Antitrust Act cases in recent history, and oversaw the public rollout of the 2023 Merger Guidelines.
Tzuker’s extensive experience in antitrust spans other roles as well, both inside and outside of government. He was a lead attorney in Commissioner Terrell McSweeny’s office at the Federal Trade Commission, where he advised on a range of consumer and competition matters related to cybersecurity, identify theft, intellectual property and advertising practices, among other matters. He also was Senior Policy Advisor for competition and privacy at Oracle.
Tzuker began his career supporting various members of Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives, including as counsel to Energy and Commerce Chair John Dingell. He received a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics from Pennsylvania State University and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
