With more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications, research, and crisis management, Ahrens brings a wealth of expertise to FGS Global, further enhancing the firm’s ability to advise clients on stakeholder engagement, policy positioning, and crisis communications in Washington and beyond.
Ahrens’ distinguished career includes senior leadership roles in Republican politics, offering valuable perspective to FGS Global’s strategic advisory capabilities. His deep understanding of the evolving media landscape will be instrumental in developing and executing integrated earned and owned media strategies, reinforcing FGS Global’s reputation for helping clients modernize and future-proof their communications operations.
Prior to joining FGS Global, Ahrens served as Managing Director at Bullpen Strategy Group, advising companies across a wide range of strategic communications and public affairs needs. From 2017 to 2020, he led the communications operation at the Republican National Committee, first as Rapid Response Director and then as Communications Director. His extensive campaign experience includes key roles for former U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, the Republican Governors Association, and former Governor Mitt Romney. In addition, Ahrens worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide to Senator Roy Blunt and contributed to the production teams at CBS News and Fox News in New York.
