Iris Plöger joins FGS Global as Partner

Berlin, April 1, 2026 – FGS Global has appointed Iris Plöger as Partner in its Berlin office. Starting today, she will strengthen the Global Public Affairs Practice with a focus on European strategies, advising clients on economic policy and regulatory issues.

A lawyer by training, Iris Plöger most recently worked at the Federation of German Industries (BDI), serving since April 2017 as a Member of the Executive Board. In this role, she was responsible for digitalization, innovation, healthcare, law, competition, and consumer policy. From 2015, she pioneered the digital economy within the BDI, leading the respective department and systematically building the association’s expertise in digital policy over a decade. In addition, she placed industrial healthcare – as a critical European industry – on the political agenda. Plöger began her career as a lawyer at the international law firm Freshfields, before bringing her focus on competition and IP/IT law to the BDI.

Dr. Brigitte von Haacke, CEO Europe of FGS Global: “Iris Plöger is one of the most prominent and influential experts in European economic policy. With her long-standing experience at the interface of industry, politics, and regulation, she has a strategic mindset, deep expertise and extensive networks. We’re delighted she’ll be bringing these to our clients.”

Iris Plöger: “The economic and regulatory landscape in Europe is undergoing rapid and fundamental change – from industrial policy to competition issues and technological sovereignty. For companies, it will be crucial to shape these dynamics early and actively. I’m especially excited to contribute to this process alongside FGS Global’s international team and provide our clients with strategic guidance and insights.”
