FGS Global Enters the Dutch Market and Opens an Office in Amsterdam

  • Proven leader Tim van der Zanden to join as a Partner as of October 1

  • Amsterdam will be FGS Global’s eighth office in Continental Europe

FGS Global, the world’s leading consultancy for strategic communications, further expands its pan-European offering by opening an office in Amsterdam. As the strategic advisory firm for the stakeholder economy, FGS Global will bring a new offer at a new time to the Dutch market, tailored to support multi-national companies in the Netherlands as well as businesses from abroad with mission-critical issues in the country.

To drive this venture, FGS Global welcomes Tim van der Zanden, an experienced international communications professional, as a Partner effective October 1. Tim, of Dutch origin, will run the Amsterdam office in tandem with Andreas Kolbe, currently Managing Director at FGS Global in Düsseldorf. Amsterdam will be the eighth office of FGS Global in Continental Europe.

Phoebe Kebbel, Member of the Global Partnership Board of FGS Global, commented: “As we continue to drive our growth across Europe, Amsterdam is the next logical step. The Netherlands has many blue-chip companies, a vital tech scene, and an increasingly important listing place with Euronext Amsterdam. We are very pleased to have Tim joining us as a proven leader who brings 20 years of experience from both sides, advisory and the corporate world.”

Tim van der Zanden added: “I am very excited to return to consulting, and, together with Andreas, take on this great opportunity. We will launch an offering in high demand: in-depth local expertise in the Dutch market combined with access to a best-in-class network of more than 1,200 highly specialized consultants worldwide.”

Van der Zanden, 44, joins FGS Global from Philips Domestic Appliances, where he successfully accompanied the spin-off from Royal Philips. Earlier, he held various communications leadership roles at companies including The Heineken Company, Ahold Delhaize, and AkzoNobel, after beginning his career at H&K Strategies. He holds a Corporate Communications Diploma and an English Teacher’s degree from Fontys Higher Education in Tilburg.

Andreas Kolbe, 41, is a Managing Director in the Transaction & Financial Communication practice. He specializes in cross-border M&A and strategic positioning. Before embarking on a career in consulting, Andreas served as a business editor for the German public broadcasting service. He holds a Diploma in Journalism and Business Administration from the TU Dortmund University and the University of Cape Town.
