Richard Barton joins Finsbury as a Partner in Hong Kong to further strengthen Finsbury’s M&A, restructuring, IPO, private equity & issues management offering across Asia.

Hong Kong May 11th, 2020 – Finsbury, a global leader in strategic communications and trusted adviser to many of the world’s most successful companies, announced today that Richard Barton has joined the firm as a Partner in its Hong Kong office.

Richard is a leading financial and corporate communications advisor with 20 years of experience in Asia. He has advised senior executives at global multi-nationals and fast-growing Asian companies on a range of issues including hostile and friendly M&A, debt restructuring and insolvency, IPOs, corporate and reputation management, crisis, litigation, public affairs and stakeholder outreach.

Barton’s move to Finsbury is the company’s third senior hire in Asia in recent months and follows the appointment of Paul Yang as Partner and Greater China lead in Hong Kong and Japan veteran Deborah Hayden as Managing Director in Tokyo.

Barton joins Finsbury after more than seven years at Newgate Communications, which he founded and led in Hong Kong. He previously ran Gavin Anderson & Company in Asia ex-Japan and started his career in investment banking in London. Richard has a BA (Hons) in Politics & Economics from Durham University, UK.
