FGS Global, the leading strategic communications and public affairs consultancy, is strengthening its senior team in Europe and welcomes Sebastian Vos (48), an experienced public policy professional, as a Partner in the Brussels office. With his experience and expertise, Sebastian particularly expands the firm’s range of advice in the increasingly regulated areas of competition policy, technology and sustainability. He joins the leadership of a Global Public Policy team encompassing more than 300 professionals in the major political centers around the world.

Dr. Brigitte von Haacke, CEO Europe of FGS Global, explained: “We are thrilled to have Sebastian join us at this exciting time for the firm. His public policy and strategic communications experience will be of great value to our clients in a variety of sectors. His leadership experience will be an invaluable asset for our senior team as we continue to grow our EU and Global Government Affairs, Policy and Advocacy practices.”

Sebastian Vos spent the last decade as a partner at Covington & Burling LLP, a leading international law firm, developing and leading the EU and Global Public Policy practices. He provides clients with policy and strategic communications advice and has extensive experience in European Union issues – particularly in the technology, life sciences and energy sectors. Sebastian has advised the boards of numerous multinational companies on a range of complex issues over the last two decades, including competition policy matters such as Microsoft’s recent $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard. He has also been closely involved in advising clients on ESG issues, including as a member of the World Economic Forum’s Community of Climate Governance experts. Prior to Covington, Sebastian was, among others, a partner at strategic government relations firm FIPRA International and worked at Freshfields, Goldman Sachs and the European Commission.

Sebastian Vos said: “I’m delighted to join FGS Global in their growth journey and look forward to working with the team to take the EU and Global public policy teams from strength to strength. Geopolitics and increased regulatory scrutiny are having an ever greater impact on businesses and FGS is ideally positioned to help its clients navigate these challenges and optimize value-creation through strategic policy engagement.”

With the rise of the stakeholder economy, the Government Affairs, Policy & Advocacy Practice has become one of the most important growth drivers for FGS Global in Europe and worldwide. More than 300 public policy experts in the major political centers in the European Union, the United Kingdom, the US, Canada, and Asia help their clients to articulate their interests, make their voices heard and safeguard their business models in an increasingly complex political and regulatory world.
