Veteran Journalist and Media Executive Daniel Bogler joins Finsbury as a Senior Advisor in Tokyo

Finsbury, a global leader in strategic communications and trusted advisor to many of the world’s most successful companies, announced today that Daniel Bogler has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor in its Tokyo office, starting September 28, 2020.

Dan has spent more than 30 years in the media business, first as a journalist where he served as Asia News Editor, Financial Times, rising to be the Managing Editor of the publication. His career with the Financial Times included work as a senior commercial executive at the Financial Times and Nikkei, where he managed a range of subsidiaries and venture projects. During his career, he has worked in London, New York, Hong Kong, Frankfurt and Tokyo.

Dan joins Finsbury from Nikkei Inc, where he was Managing Director of ScoutAsia, a new data and news service focused on Asian companies. ScoutAsia, which Dan helped to set up in both Tokyo and Hong Kong, is the first significant joint venture launched by Nikkei and the Financial Times following their merger in 2015. Prior to that, Dan spent six years in New York as President of Medley Global Advisors, a macro-economic consulting firm owned by the FT. Before that he spent 15 years at the FT in various roles, including Head of Lex, Asia News Editor and Managing Editor. Dan is originally from Germany but attended secondary school in the UK and graduated with First Class Honours in Modern History from Oxford University.
