Account Director - Tech

FGS Global is a leading global strategic communication consultancy, operating in the main business hubs around the world and based in fabulous offices in central London. We are looking for a high-energy, proactive and driven technology and/or fintech sector-focused Account Director to both provide exceptional service to our high profile clients and help further establish our broader business and reputation internationally.

The role will be to support market-leading clients across several tech sector verticals and practice groups, while also delivering high-profile issues-management and capital markets-focused projects. We are looking for candidates that are energetic and have a track record of achievement within similar agency or in-house environments. The position will give extensive exposure to some of the highest profile communications situations in the market, as well as the opportunity to drive new business in the UK and across our global network.

The role will include:

  • Client delivery: Lead and manage key accounts, developing a deep understanding of the clients’ business and anticipating their needs; Develop messaging materials and communications collateral; Provide strategic advice, ongoing counsel and support; take a lead role for issues management and capital markets projects (M&A, IPOs, litigation support etc)

  • New business: devise and implement engagement activities to strengthen relationships with target companies and ecosystem players.

  • Media engagement: Deep, established media relationships across the sector are a must

  • Training and development: Actively share knowledge to build team capabilities and skills; Continually develop your own skills and expertise.

  • Marketing and business development: Shape, develop and activate thought leadership content and events to fuel the pipeline.

  • International mindset and experience greatly preferred



    Successful candidates will demonstrate:


    Necessary attributes

  • 6-10 years of relevant PR experience, either in another agency or a busy in-house environment. True team player

  • Demonstrable interest and understanding of business environment and current affairs; strong understanding of the global technology and fintech ecosystem

  • Developed understanding of the role of strategic communications for both retained clients and in high stakes reputation management situations

  • Robust understanding of, and relationships with, UK and international media
