Senior Associate

Based in offices overlooking the Thames in central London, FGS Global is a leading global strategic communication consultancy operating in the main business hubs around the world. We are looking for an ambitious Senior Associate with experience in a similar PR agency environment to provide exceptional service to our high-profile clients across sectors and a range of mandates including M&A, reputation-building and crisis.


Your role

  • Understanding your clients' perspective, business, issues and peers, you’ll bring ideas, robust account management and strong delivery skills across analysis, drafting and client management.

  • Building on your existing skills, you’ll develop strong relationships with your clients and colleagues, taking an interest, being proactive in sharing insights and ideas and becoming a trusted member of the team.

  • Confidently executing first drafts of key materials: client advice notes, briefing notes, Q&A, comms plans and strategies, key messages, media summaries.

  • Proactively horizon-scans for new business opportunities, contributing to new business briefing notes, proposals and pitches.

  • Contributes to the development of FGS Global and embraces the one-firm culture; generates and implements ideas that advance the firm.

  • Developing your judgement, you’ll identify risks, escalate issues and proactively monitor and assess emerging situations.

  • On a day to day basis, you’ll be the eyes and ears of your clients, whether that’s media monitoring, working with our research and insights team to assess opportunities and the changing landscape or sharing intelligence that guides decision-making.

Necessary attributes

  • Deep interest in business and current affairs and helping leading organisations grow, change recover and rebuild.

  • Two-to-four years of experience in a similar PR agency environment.

  • Bachelor’s level degree or MBA or equivalent.

  • Good at building relationships.

  • Proactive, adaptable and reliable.

  • Independent, clear and creative thinking, taking the initiative.

  • Strong personal integrity and acts as a role model and ambassador of the firm’s values.

Successful candidates will demonstrate

Skills

  • Write in a clear and organised style that tells a story succinctly with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences.

  • Proficient in the use of online/digital tools, social media monitoring and distribution channels.

  • A good understanding of financial accounting, the analyst/IR landscape and corporate finance.

  • Confident with excel, PowerPoint and relevant data bases including FactSet, BBG, Alphasense.

  • Can lead qualitative and quantitative benchmarking exercises.
