Abby Deift is a Managing Director in the Washington, DC office, where she brings a wide range of experience in cybersecurity and technology risk management from across sectors.

Most recently, Abby served as Executive Director for AI Programs at the Department of Homeland Security, where she directed the Department’s strategy for responsible use of AI technologies. She previous served as the Executive Director of the Department’s (DHS’s) Cyber Safety Review Board, a first-of-its-kind organization responsible for after-action reviews of major cyber incidents. Abby also worked as a Vice President for Enterprise Risk at Goldman Sachs, leading the firm’s regulatory engagements for technology, climate, and business resiliency risk management. She also held roles developing science and technology policy and setting research and development priorities at DHS under President Obama, at the National Science Foundation, and for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).

Abby holds an MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School and a BA from Columbia University in Mathematics and English. She is originally from New York City, and now resides in Washington, DC with her husband and daughter.
