Alyn Kiel

As a Partner and co-leader of FGS Global’s Food team, Alyn brings more than a decade of experience on food, agriculture, nutrition, climate and rural issues to her clients.

Alyn designs and executes integrated advocacy, media and reputation campaigns for clients ranging from innovative start-ups to the world’s leading brands. Examples of her work include building a leading policy-focused coalition of food companies from the ground up; counseling start-ups through funding round and other major announcements; and navigating companies through the introduction of innovative products and processes in a challenging policy, regulatory and media environment.

Alyn joined the firm from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), where she most recently served as senior strategic communications advisor and speechwriter to the Secretary during the Obama Administration. At USDA, Alyn held a variety of roles focused on communicating around federal nutrition programs, climate change, trade, rural poverty and opportunity and the implementation of the Farm Bill.

A graduate of Michigan State University, Alyn is a former Michigan FFA State President and proudly hails from rural Montague, Michigan, home of the world’s largest weathervane.
