Bryan works with clients across a range of M&A, shareholder activism and crisis situations, as well as developing and executing ongoing investor relations and corporate positioning programs.
Bryan began his career as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers and Evercore Partners before joining Citadel in a range of investor relations, communications and operating roles.
Bryan Locke is a Partner and Head of the Chicago office. He advises clients on complex financial and other communications matters impacting value and reputation, including M&A, shareholder activism and crises, as well as ongoing strategic communications support.
Recent assignments include advising Avalon Bay and Equity Residential on their proposed combination, Cintas on its proposed acquisition of UniFirst, Gentherm on its proposed acquisition of Modine Performance Technologies, Alliance Laundry Systems on its IPO and Union Pacific on its proposed acquisition of Norfolk Southern. Bryan has also advised numerous companies on activism preparedness and response, including Ashland on its settlement with Ancora Alternatives, Southwest Airlines on its proxy defense against Elliott Management, Norfolk Southern on its proxy defense against Ancora Alternatives, Harley-Davidson on its defense against a withhold campaign from H Partners.
Bryan also provides ongoing support on a range of matters to Conagra Brands, Cintas, Xcel Energy, among others.
Bryan began his career at Lehman Brothers in investment banking and corporate development roles and later joined Evercore Partners where he advised companies on M&A transactions. Bryan also worked at Citadel as a senior member of the client relations team. He also served in an operating role at Citadel's fund of hedge funds and hedge fund seeding business.
