Capricia brings to the firm 30 years of experience at the highest levels of foreign policy, international and business diplomacy, and high-stakes diplomatic engagements. A distinguished expert in foreign affairs, diplomacy and national security, she advises on global political dynamics, fosters diplomatic engagement and strengthens international alliances. She serves as the Ambassador-in-Residence for the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center and Vice Chair for the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center Advisory Council.

As Chief of Protocol of the U.S., bearing the rank of ambassador, from 2009 until 2013, Capricia was the country’s lead representative in setting the stage for successful diplomatic engagement with other nations at the highest levels. In her post, she worked to leverage U.S. relationships with foreign governments to facilitate enhanced bilateral relations, international trade agreements and strategic global partnerships. She reinvented modern protocol by building relationships between industry leaders in the U.S. and economies worldwide and created strategies to transform global engagement. She developed an expertise in protocol and international relations, coordinated high level summits and state visits that require cultural sensitivity and adherence to diplomatic norms.

From 1993 to 1997, Capricia served as Special Assistant to the First Lady of the United States. In 1997, she was appointed Deputy Assistant to the President and White House Social Secretary.

Capricia travels across the country speaking about the experiences and lessons of her career in public service and how best to integrate cultural diplomacy into business. She is the author of the book “Protocol: The Power of Diplomacy and How to Make it Work for You.” She has been named to ELLE magazine’s annual “Washington Power List”. Recipient of the Secretary's Distinguished Service Award; The Order of the Cross of Isabel La Católica from Spain, and Croatia's Presidential Decorations.
