Life Beyond FGS Global

Always looking for new mountains to hike, ski, and photograph with his camera and drone.

For more than 15 years, Dan has advised policymakers, corporate leaders and non-profit organizations on a wide range of high-profile and complex issues. He joined FGS Global predecessor GPG in 2017 with a decade of experience in politics, government and communications, including five years in senior positions in the Obama Administration, most recently serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Treasury. At Treasury, Dan spearheaded communications on major domestic financial and economic issues, including the Puerto Rico debt crisis, federal debt limit impasses, cybersecurity and consumer/retirement policy issues.

Prior to Treasury, Dan was the Associate Director of Public Affairs and Press Secretary at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In this role, he served as the agency’s national spokesperson for more than 200 federally declared disasters, including the response to Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Dan started his career in politics in 2007, helping to organize the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver and on the advance team of then-Senator Obama's first presidential campaign. Dan also worked in Congress for three years for former U.S. Senator Tom Udall.

During national incidents like natural disasters, Dan regularly appears on national media outlets to provide commentary and insight. Originally from England, Dan grew up in Denver, Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with degrees in International Affairs, Economics and Journalism. Dan lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Abbey.
