Ed’s work centres on guiding clients through their challenging political and regulatory moments. He supports clients as they navigate contentious legislative or regulatory reform, developing engagement strategies to ensure policy is as effective and practical as possible. He also works on securing deal clearance for politically-sensitive transactions, helping clients through merger review and national security processes.
His background is in public and regulatory law, where he worked for five years on judicial review, public policy change and resulting litigation. He was also a political advisor in the New Zealand government, bringing together his legal, media and political skills to help deliver a policy agenda from within a senior cabinet Minister's office.
