Elizabeth Murray is a Partner in FGS Global’s Government Affairs Division. Drawing on over twenty-five years of public and private sector healthcare policy experience, she provides strategic, legislative and political counsel across the firm’s Health practice. She advises companies, nonprofits, trade associations and advocacy organizations on constantly evolving policy and political issues across a dynamic healthcare sector.
Prior to joining FGS Global, Elizabeth spent fifteen years serving as a health policy advisor in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Most recently, she served as Senior Policy Advisor to Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, where she played an instrumental role in the development and passage of the Affordable Care Act. In addition to health reform, she worked extensively on Medicare, Medicaid and public health programs, including financing and reimbursement policies, privacy and HIT issues, and mental health and substance abuse policies. She also worked for senior Members of the Ways and Means and Finance Committees, including Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), Rep. Bob Matsui (D-CA), and Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL).
Elizabeth earned a Masters in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor’s degree from Yale University.
