Living and working in Asia since 2001, Heather has built a reputation focusing on supporting businesses navigating complex challenges, driving sustainable growth and fostering meaningful stakeholder engagement.
When not working on Japan’s public broadcaster’s (NHK’s) “Cool Japan” TV show, Heather is often found working in the business community with the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan, as well as its American counterpart. She is a wellness enthusiast who loves yoga, running and learning.
Heather Prosser is a seasoned advisor with over 20 years of experience in business development, sustainability, and communications across the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Japan and Hong Kong, Heather has built a career supporting businesses in navigating complex challenges, driving sustainable growth, and fostering meaningful stakeholder engagement.
Heather joined FGS Global’s Japan office in March, bringing with her expertise in sustainability consulting and strategic advisory. Prior to this, she spearheaded sustainability efforts for Sodali Japan, where she launched and developed the firm’s consulting services. She also played a pivotal role in establishing and growing the Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team at EY Japan, where she spent over eight years advising clients in communications, sustainability, and financial services activation. Earlier in her career, Heather gained valuable experience in investor relations, working with various stakeholders.
Originally from the United States, Heather began her professional journey in Silicon Valley’s venture capital sector before relocating to Japan in 2001. Her deep understanding of the region’s business landscape has made her a trusted partner for private equity firms, tech startups, and other growing enterprises seeking to thrive in Asia.
Heather’s leadership extends beyond her professional endeavors. She is actively engaged in the community as an Executive Committee member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ) and has been a board member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ), where she led the Sustainability Committee.
A familiar face in Japanese media, Heather has been a regular guest presenter on NHK’s popular program “Cool Japan” since 2007, sharing insights on Japanese culture with a global audience.
Heather’s career reflects her commitment to driving positive change, fostering collaboration, and aligning corporate strategies with sustainable practices.
