Hiroyuki Takahashi is a veteran journalist with over 20 years of experience, including 15 years at Jiji Press, where he covered economic affairs, corporate finance, global markets, politics and so on. Over the course of his career, he has conducted in-depth interviews with more than 600 business leaders, reported on key financial policies, and analyzed corporate earnings and international market trends. He also played a pivotal role in covering Japan’s energy policy and led investigative reporting on the Fukushima nuclear crisis.
Prior to Jiji Press, he worked at Chemical Daily, covering the petrochemical and engineering sectors. He conducted extensive field reporting across Asia and authored a comprehensive investigative series on the global water industry.
Immediately before joining FGS, he served as Editor-in-Chief at Economic Media Bulletin (EMB), where he oversaw editorial strategy across multiple media platforms and drove international expansion initiatives.
Hiroyuki holds a degree from the University of Surrey and was a visiting fellow at the University of Oxford’s Reuters Institute. He has also delivered lectures on Japanese journalism at universities in Malaysia and India.
