Advises communications executives on strengthening their functions, aligning them with business priorities, and managing reputation in an evolving environment. Her focus is on preparing teams for the future of communications, from sharpening strategy and operating models to integrating AI.
Started her career at ING in Germany, later working in Turkey and the Netherlands advising boards and senior leaders on communications. She then joined AkzoNobel as Senior Executive for Communications, before founding her own consultancy, advising organizations on effective communications.
A former competitive athlete, Janine now balances her energy with Pilates, weightlifting, and running. She fell in love with Amsterdam and made it home, while her East German roots and love of travel keep her outlook grounded and curious.
Janine Krönung is Managing Director in FGS Global’s Strategy & Reputation Practice, focusing on Future Proof Communications and Transformation. Based in Amsterdam, she brings almost two decades of international experience in corporate communications across banking and manufacturing.
Janine works with leadership teams on transformation, organizational resilience, and future readiness. She helps organizations strengthen their communication functions, align them with business strategy, and navigate complex change, including mergers and acquisitions. Her work sits at the intersection of leadership, culture, and transformation, and increasingly includes integrating AI into communication operating models in a practical, value-driven way.
Before joining FGS Global, Janine held senior in-house roles at ING and AkzoNobel, working across Germany, Turkey, and the Netherlands. As Strategic Communications Advisor, Director of Internal Communications and later Director of Global Communication Services she supported large-scale transformation programs and M&A initiatives from the inside.
She holds an MBA in Communications and Leadership from Quadriga University Berlin and has completed executive education at the University of Oxford, IMD in Switzerland, and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University with a focus on leadership, strategy execution, sustainable business, brand building, coaching and change management.
