An art enthusiast, inspired cook, and devoted family man, finds joy in historical literature, anthropology, and gardening. A passionate advocate for design’s transformative power in corporate communication, he excels in making complex ideas accessible and inspiring change through creativity.
With over two decades of experience spanning creative direction, brand strategy, and design consulting, I specialize in transforming complexity into clarity. I believe in the power of design to simplify, inspire, and connect, and I bring a touch of magic to every medium I work with.
Currently based in Berlin, I’ve partnered with global and local clients, delivering impactful design solutions that drive results. As a Creative Director, I focus on crafting meaningful brand narratives and designing user-centric experiences that resonate.
Previously, I held Art Director roles at Vice Media, Quadriga Media, and Kakoii Berlin/Tokyo, where I honed my expertise in brand design, creative leadership, and strategic design implementation. I also founded Cabinet Gold van d'Vlies, a design collective, further solidifying my multidisciplinary approach.
Throughout my career, my work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Art Directors Club Gold, European Design Award Bronze, and multiple honors in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland's “100 Best Posters of the Year.”
With a solid academic foundation in Integrated Design (Diplom, Hochschule für Künste Bremen) and a background in art studies at Universidade Católica de Salvador, I combine artistic intuition with strategic insights. I am fluent in German, English, Spanish, and Portuguese, enabling me to collaborate seamlessly across cultures and markets.
My expertise spans creative direction, strategic design, and brand consulting, complemented by specialized skills in brand management, design thinking, and business model architecture. My approach is grounded in storytelling, innovation, and a commitment to crafting designs that leave a lasting impression.
