Develops and executes communications strategies for complex M&A, shareholder activism, litigation and crisis situations, as well as for ongoing corporate positioning and investor relations programs.
Prior to joining in 1999, Jim was head of corporate communications for BT (British Telecom) North America, where he worked for eight years devising and implementing corporate communications strategies.
Jim likes to watch soccer, play golf and dine out, but instead spends most of his time with his family and loyal dog.
Jim is co-head of the global financial and transactions practice, specializing in M&A, activism defense and financial communications. During his over 20 years at the firm, he has provided counsel in a variety of complex financial and crisis situations, as well as advising on a number of long-term corporate positioning programs.
Recent M&A projects include, CDK's sale to Brookfield, Sprint's merger with T-Mobile, USG's sale to Knauf, Samsung's acquisition of HARMAN, British American Tobacco's acquisition of Reynolds, and Rockwell Collins' acquisition of BE Aerospace,
Recent activism defense situations include Bed, Bath and Beyond, Exxon Mobil, Navient and GoDaddy.
Prior to joining legacy firm SVC in 1999, Jim was Director of Corporate Relations for British Telecom in North America.
Jim holds a B.A. degree with honors from Liverpool University in England
