Spent most of the last twenty years in government, most recently as Chief of Staff of the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice. While there we brought historic cases and issued new Merger Guidelines. I also worked at the FTC and for a decade in the Congress.
Life Beyond FGS Global
I am the father of two wonderful teen-age children. When we can we ski, but mostly spend much of my time attending their sports and activities.
When companies are engaged in a sensitive transaction, or find that the marketplace is not responsive to normal competitive pressures, there are a range of tools that can be used to ensure that policy makers and enforcers understand the realities companies face. To tell that story, companies need to engage stakeholders, opinion leaders, and political officials. Creating a comprehensive strategy incorporates a legal, political, and communications strategy. It also understands that in a global economy, there are different audiences around the world. Increasingly resolutions are international in scope and campaigns must have resources to match. The role of our Antitrust and Competition practice is to manage that engagement for sensitive transactions and for competition advocacy.
