Kal Goldberg is a Partner at FGS Global and leads the firm’s Transactions & Financial Communications practice in North America. He advises managements and boards on communications strategies across a wide variety of domestic and cross-border M&A, restructuring, investor relations, shareholder activism defense and preparedness, IPO, ESG, litigation and crisis situations. He is a frequent speaker on financial communications and corporate governance issues.

Representations include Grubhub in its acquisition by Just Eat Takeaway; J.Crew Group and McDermott International in their restructurings under Chapter 11; Nightstar in its acquisition by Biogen; Takeda Pharmaceutical Company in its acquisition of Shire Pharmaceuticals; Express Scripts in its sale to Cigna and subsequent deal defense against Icahn Enterprises; Tribune Media Company in its proposed acquisition by Sinclair Broadcasting Group and subsequent acquisition by Nexstar Media; Praxair, Inc. in its merger with Linde AG; and SABMiller in its merger with AB InBev. Other engagements include various activism and crisis preparedness matters.

Prior to joining FGS Global, Kal was a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting where he led the firm’s Special Situations practice. He was previously an investment banker focused on the retail and consumer sector. Kal holds an MBA in finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business and is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
