Before joining FGS Global in 2026, Kathrin spent two decades as a successful business journalist at Reuters and Handelsblatt. She made the transition from journalism to communications in 2022, when she joined Commerzbank.
Life Beyond FGS Global
Kathrin lives with her three children, her husband, and five pets in the beautiful Taunus region just outside Frankfurt. She loves spending time with her family and friends in nature — a welcome distraction from the daily office routine and the best way to recharge.
Kathrin Jones is a Managing Director based in Frankfurt. She advises international clients across various industries on strategic positioning, financial and capital markets communications, and M&A situations. Her subject matter focus is on the financial services sector. Kathrin is also part of the FGS media training group for board members and other executives.
Before joining FGS Global in early 2026, Kathrin spent two decades as a successful business and financial journalist, likewise with a particular focus on the financial sector. She worked in senior positions at the international news agency Reuters in Germany and the business newspaper Handelsblatt. Kathrin made the transition from journalism to communications in 2022, when she joined Commerzbank to roll out its newly developed corporate newsroom. She also led Commerzbank's financial and strategy communications for several years, a period that included crisis communications and the defense campaign around the Unicredit situation.
Kathrin studied political science, sociology, and communications at the University of Munich. She is also a graduate of the renowned Deutsche Journalistenschule DJS in Munich, where she completed a postgraduate programme.
