As a Vice President in FGS Global’s Policy & Advocacy practice in the firms Government Affairs Division, Kerry O’Brien assists corporations, philanthropies and non-profit organizations in navigating complex political and legislative environments, with a focus on international affairs, trade, global health and development, and gender equity.
Kerry has extensive experience in public policy and government affairs, having successfully implemented strategic legislative agendas through Congress and into law. She has collaborated closely with diverse and bipartisan sets of stakeholders on federal appropriations, economic initiatives, energy and environment policies and foreign affairs.
Prior to joining FGS Global, Kerry spent nearly a decade on Capitol Hill. Most recently, she served as Legislative Director for then-Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittees on Europe and on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade, where she managed the subcommittee portfolio as well as domestic priorities to the district. Previously, she worked for a senior member of the House Committees on Foreign Affairs and the Judiciary.
Kerry holds an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business. A proud New Englander, she currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband, Doug.
