Leads the company’s integrated Health practice and specializes in building and protecting reputations
Combination of political and communications experience comes from over twenty-five years on Capitol Hill and in the private sector.
A native of Boston – and unapologetic Red Sox fan. Book worm. Lives with her husband and two mutts on Capitol Hill.
Kim James is a Partner at FGS Global and leads the firm's integrated Health practice, bringing together communications and government affairs expertise to serve clients across a highly regulated sector. With more than 25 years of experience, her work centers on the communications challenges that matter most -- building reputations that hold up under pressure and protecting them when they come under threat.
Kim advises companies, nonprofits, institutions, and advocacy organizations on corporate positioning and differentiated messaging, complex crisis and issues management, and sensitive communications at critical inflection points. She also coaches senior executives on media performance and high-stakes presentations, preparing leaders to engage boards, regulators, investors, and the press with clarity and confidence.
Before joining FGS, Kim spent a decade in political communications across the U.S. Senate, campaigns, and party committees -- working closely with media, managing high-profile moments, and guiding complex legislative fights through a communications lens. That experience gave her a practitioner's understanding of how policy, politics, and public opinion move together to influence key stakeholders.
A native of Massachusetts, Kim holds a BA in International Relations from Tufts University and is based in Washington, D.C.
