Lucy Dao is a Director in the Los Angeles office. She advises clients on corporate positioning and media relations programs, as well as transactions and special situations, including IPOs, M&A, crisis situations, and geopolitical issues, with a focus on transpacific engagements between the United States and Asia. Prior to relocating to the US West Coast, Lucy spent over six years in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
Lucy’s notable assignments include advising Alibaba Group on global media relations and high-stakes announcements; Ant Group on corporate matters and proposed dual listing; Cainiao's proposed Hong Kong IPO; DiDi, Wanda Sports Group, Bilibili, TDCX and VNG on their US IPOs; Google/HTC smartphone business transaction; geopolitical and issues management advisory for notable venture capital firms and tech startups.
Other representative experience includes supporting Oaktree Capital, China Renaissance on portfolio companies and media relations; CanSinoBIO on its COVID-19 vaccine narrative; and Toshiba on its response to activist shareholders.
Lucy graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) with a M.A. in International Relations and International Economics.
