Melanie Grayce West, a managing director for FGS Global’s Health team, provides communications counsel and support to a variety of health clients, including expertise in message development and delivery, executive positioning and issues management.
Melanie joined FGS after 15 years reporting for The Wall Street Journal. An experienced health and New York City metro reporter, she has an expertise in front-page stories and in complex, cross-bureau breaking news.
An enthusiastic collaborator and listener, Melanie uses the skills of a journalist to craft compelling storylines and find unique perspectives on any subject, while using newsroom experience to help navigate clients through media engagements. She has extensive experience in New York City media and in developing relationships with executives and board members across a variety of industries.
Before becoming a journalist, Melanie was a major gifts fundraiser for a prominent political action committee and several non-profits based in Washington, D.C.
Melanie earned a Master’s in Journalism from Columbia University in New York City and received a BA in Government from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. A native Texan, Melanie resides in Manhattan with her family.
