Menno has had several national and international senior leadership roles in both public and financial sector. Between 2017-2019 he served as the State Secretary of Finance (D66) in the Rutte III Cabinet.

Life Beyond FGS Global

Menno is married and qauite proud father of both his daughters who are studying at his own Alma Mater Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.

Menno Snel has a long career in public as well as financial sector. The first part of his career he worked at the Ministry of Finance, becoming deputy Director-General for Taxation and Customs at the age of 33. Subsequently, he worked as Director of Strategy at pension investor APG and served as the Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund in Washington for five years. After a period as CEO of the public sector bank NWB Bank, he became in 2017 the Secretary of State for Finance in the Rutte III cabinet.

Recently, he served as a board member of pension fund ABP, chairman of the supervisory board at ship building company Royal IHC and was president of Element NL, the association for energy from Dutch soil. In addition to his partnership at FGS Global, he still serves as chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Mortgage Guarantee (NHG), the National Green Fund (Nationaal Groenfonds) and the Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). Menno is also chairman of the scientific institute of D66 (Hans van Mierlo Foundation) and Special Envoy of the government to make SME financing in the Netherlands the best in Europe.
