As a Managing Director in FGS Global’s Strategic Communications Division, Michael Ahrens has more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications, research, and crisis management. He has advised some of the nation’s top political and business leaders, and fought on the front lines of high-profile political and policy campaigns, as well as behind the scenes in the media, philanthropic and financial sectors.
Prior to joining FGS, Ahrens was a Managing Director at Bullpen Strategy Group where he advised companies on a wide range of strategic communications and public affairs needs. From 2017 to 2020, Ahrens served in senior communications roles at the Republican National Committee, first as Rapid Response Director and then Communications Director, in addition to previous campaign experience for Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the Republican Governors Association, and Sen. Mitt Romney. He also worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide to Sen. Roy Blunt and in New York on the production teams at CBS News and Fox News.
Ahrens is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and a graduate of New York University.
