Richard Walters most recently served as the Executive Director of the Trump- Vance Inaugural Committee, board member of the Trump-Vance Transition, and Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC).
Prior to those roles, he served as the senior executive in charge of the 2024 Republican National Convention, overseeing the planning and execution of the convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Prior to his role as Senior Advisor, Walters served as the Chief of Staff for the Republican National Committee, where he was responsible for building and managing a national political operation with over 1,000 staff across the country and oversaw a $1.3 billion dollar budget.
Before becoming Chief of Staff, he served as Finance Director and managed a team of 70, responsible for record breaking fundraising.
He began his career on the campaign of Governor Haley Barbour of Mississippi before later moving to Boston to work for Governor Mitt Romney’s Presidential campaign.
Walters grew up in a small town in Mississippi and attended the University of Mississippi majoring in Public Policy and Leadership where he was a Lott Scholar. He later pursued a master’s degree in Education Policy and Social Analysis at Teacher’s College at Columbia University. He currently divides his time between Dallas, Texas and Washington, DC.
