Before joining in 2021, Samuel worked at the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority and as a paralegal at a US corporate law firm in Tokyo.

Samuel Brustad is a Director in FGS Global’s Tokyo office. He supports clients with crisis response and preparedness, restructuring and change, reputation building, investor relations, and M&A. Samuel transferred to Tokyo from our London office, and he specialises in supporting clients in the financial services sector.
Previously, Samuel has worked at the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority, supervising the conduct and prudential health of major UK financial institutions, including general insurance firms. Sam also worked as a paralegal in the Tokyo office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, supporting capital markets, M&A and funds transactions.
Samuel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Tokyo, and a Masters degree in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford. He is fluent in Japanese.
