Leveraging her extensive networks with the Japanese business community and her broad experience in stakeholder engagement across the UK and Europe, she provides clients with expert advice in international strategic communications and reputation management.
Prior to joining FGS Global, Sayoko led the Japan Desk at an international strategic communications firm based in London. In this role, she led a number of profile-raising campaigns and stakeholder engagement programmes for Japanese clients across both public and private sectors.
Sayoko enjoys running and playing squash and has recently started trail running as a new challenge. A passionate foodie, she loves discovering new cafes and restaurants.
Sayoko joined FGS Global in August 2025, bringing a wealth of experience in international strategic communications. Previously, she served as Associate Director and Head of Japan Desk at Kreab’s London office, where she led high-impact profile-raising campaigns and stakeholder engagement initiatives for Japanese clients across both private and public sectors.
Sayoko has a proven track record in enhancing the international presence of Japanese organisations in the UK and Europe through global media campaigns and stakeholder outreach. Her expertise spans crisis communications, reputation management, and navigating complex communications challenges for government entities and multinational corporations. Drawing on her in-depth knowledge of the international media, industry and policy landscapes, she has successfully guided high-profile Japanese clients through challenging communication situations.
In addition to her professional achievements, Sayoko contributed to the Japanese business community in the UK as Deputy Chair of the Professional Service Division at the Japanese Chamber of Commerce.
Sayoko has lived in London for more than a decade and is fluent in Japanese, English and Spanish. She holds a BA in Liberal Arts with Spanish from Royal Holloway, University of London.
