Subhan Cheema is a Managing Director in the Strategic Communications Division at FGS Global, bringing nearly 15 years of experience advising senior leaders facing intense public and market scrutiny, shaping narratives around complex political and policy issues, and managing high-stakes crises.
Previously, Subhan was Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he led communications planning for the Department and directed media engagement for Secretary Janet L. Yellen. Before Treasury, Subhan held senior communications roles in the Biden White House, including communications director for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and deputy director for strategic communications and external engagement on the White House COVID-19 Response Team. In these roles, he helped shape and execute the Biden Administration’s communications and stakeholder strategy on COVID-19 and AI, directed the public rollout of major programs including COVIDTests.gov, and counseled senior White House officials on critical decisions. Subhan is a veteran of the 2020 Biden campaign and Capitol Hill, where he served as deputy communications director for U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT). Earlier in his career, he worked at The Glover Park Group, a predecessor firm to FGS Global, and was an aide and speechwriter to Health and Human Services Secretaries Kathleen Sebelius and Sylvia Mathews Burwell in the Obama Administration.
