As a director on the Health team, Teri supports the development of integrated strategic communications plans and materials for clients seeking to hone their messaging, reach new audiences, navigate challenging circumstances, and achieve diverse and ambitious objectives.
A decade of communications and storytelling experience across industries and sectors, including serving as Deputy Communications Director for U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy. M.S. in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, B.A. in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire.
New Hampshire native and proud (obnoxious?) New England sports fan. Can be found exploring the DC suburbs with her husband and toddler or hiding from the heat with her two pampered cats.
Teri Hatch is a Director on the Health team in FGS Global’s Washington, DC, office. In this role, she leverages deep experience with digital media, campaign development and execution, advertising, strategic planning, partnership and coalition building, and message and content creation to support the varied needs of the firm’s health clients.
Prior to this role, Teri served in the Biden Administration as the Deputy Communications Director and Director of Digital Media for the 21st Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. Vivek Murthy. In these roles, she built and oversaw a lauded digital program that encompassed content and influencer partnerships, a first-of-its-kind podcast, viral humor, and consistently digestible public health information-sharing across multiple channels. She led the office’s workstream to provide up-to-date COVID information and supported the rollout of five Surgeon General’s Advisories, which called the nation to action on our mental health crisis and the epidemic of firearm violence.
Teri has more than ten years of communications and storytelling experience, including with prominent civil rights organization the Children’s Defense Fund and EdTech leader Discovery Education. She also held direct service roles in education and community development, beginning when she taught elementary and middle school math while serving as an AmeriCorps Massachusetts Promise Fellow in Boston.
Teri earned a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire.
