Zak brings over a decade of experience advising clients across a variety of sectors, including financial services, healthcare, education and technology.

Recent assignments include advising Advent International on its take private acquisition of Maxar Technologies and acquisition of Baxter International’s BioPharma Solutions business (NKA: Simtra), Klaviyo on its IPO listing on the New York Stock Exchange, Zendesk on its take private sale to an investor group led by Hellman & Friedman and Permira, Babylon on its merger with Alkuri Global Acquisition Corp., 23andMe on its merger with VG Acquisition Corp. and NCR on its acquisition of Cardtronics. Ongoing corporate positioning and transaction-related assignments include Advent International, Audax Group (Private Equity and Private Debt), Beemok Capital, Berkshire Partners and Great Hill Partners.

Zak has advised clients on multiple high-profile situations and matters, including Alkermes on its successful activist defense against Sarissa Capital Management, YogaWorks and BJ Services on their respective Chapter 11 filings, the Special Committee of the Board of Directors of Dell on activist defense against Carl Icahn and sale of the company and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in connection with an independent report to the National Football League concerning issues of player misconduct at the Miami Dolphins.

Earlier in his career, Zak served as an Account Director at BackBay Communications, a boutique branding, marketing and communications agency, where he was a member of the firm’s private equity group.

A graduate of Fairfield University, he holds a BA in Communication.
