FGS Global Radar: Leadership in a Crisis

FGS Global’s UK Crisis Practice and Research & Insights team conducted research to understand businesses’ experience of crises and perceptions towards crisis management. The teams polled more than 500 senior decision makers from UK businesses and conducted in-depth interviews with some of the UK’s most respected business leaders.

The key findings include:

  • Businesses cite ransomware attacks; an economic crash and unexpected government policies and regulations in their top three crisis fears

  • More than 85% of businesses have experienced a crisis, with consensus indicating that crises are becoming more prevalent and unpredictable

  • The biggest concern of companies in a crisis remains the financial impact, with reputational impact and loss of employee trust further down the list

  • The data shows businesses lack confidence in their crisis preparedness

  • The findings also reveal that businesses are not sufficiently prepared for the crises they fear the most

Now, more than ever, businesses have a critical need for robust crisis leadership.
