Tell us about a typical day

My typical day involves leading a team of brilliant professionals who are technologists at heart. My daily task is to effectively prioritize my time and activities to manage projects to completion.

What is your favorite aspect of the job?

The best part of the job is nurturing a productive and process-oriented team, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to contribute to the success of the firm, and fostering an environment where collaboration is the norm.

How would you describe yourself as a member of the team?

It’s hard not to use a cliché, but I like to lead by example. I take pride in the quality of work we produce. My management style is direct, unfiltered straight-talk and I try to remain approachable to everyone. I empower team members and coach them on how to be strategic when making decisions.

What do you think is special about FGS Global?

FGS Global is a ground-floor opportunity. Partaking in the development of FGS Global from the beginning is special.

How did you begin your career in the industry?

I began my career as an Office Clerk and Wang System Administrator. I joined Arthur Andersen in 1989 as IT Operations Administrator and became Manager of Network Operations and Infrastructure for the New York market circle. I was an Associate Director of Technology Operations at Weil, Gotshal, and Manges LLP before moving to Sard Verbinnen & Co., where I was the Managing Director and CIO. I was given the opportunity to continue my leadership role at FGS Global.

Tell us about a typical day

It will usually start with a latte but every day is different to me! I can be doing anything from onboarding new joiners and taking them around to meet their new colleagues to reviewing the annual review process or recruiting new talent. Throughout the day, I’ll answer any ad hoc queries that come through while continuing to work on other projects. Then it’s also being there for guidance and support to my colleagues. I normally complete my day around 6pm, but the world of HR is not 9-5 so I’m flexible if I need to stay later to help with anything.

What is your favorite aspect of the job?

I like people and I enjoy seeing people do well, in and out of work. I also like the fact that at FGS Global there’s flexibility to try lots of different things with the ability to make changes quickly.

How would you describe yourself as a member of the team?

I like to think that I am approachable and personable, with good active listening skills, open-minded and empathetic.

What do you think is special about FGS Global?

The company is a world of opportunities with such great potential. The culture and people are second to none, there’s lots of positive energy and willingness for growth, with caring and friendly colleagues. We are encouraged to wear multiple hats and with all the new challenges I feel like I’m continuously developing my creativity, intuition and skills. FGS Global has offered me a very diverse professional experience for the 4 years I’ve been here.

How did you begin your career in the industry?

FGS Global was actually my first ever HR job and the world of strategic communications, although fascinating, was all very new to me when I was recruited to what, at the time, used to be Finsbury!
